The interactive session focused on building confidence, staying alert, and responding to threats with simple yet effective techniques. The students practiced real-life scenarios, gaining valuable skills for personal safety.
GD Goenka Public School, East Delhi, proudly participated in the “Swachhata Hi Seva 2024” campaign from 29th Sept to 1st Oct! The students and staff took the Swachhata Pledge and organized a mega cleanliness drive, with 125 students and 10 teachers cleaning classrooms and public areas. Special thanks to our Head of School, Ms. Renu Ajay, for inspiring everyone to contribute to a cleaner environment.

International Deaf Day, observed since 1958 and organized by the World Federation of the Deaf, promotes awareness of the rights and achievements of the Deaf community, emphasizing the need for inclusion and equal opportunities.
On September 30th, a workshop for classes VII and VIII was conducted to raise awareness about the challenges faced by Deaf individuals and to promote sign language. Led by Dr. Kalyani Singh, a hearing and speech specialist with 18 years of experience, the session addressed significant issues such as the need for education in native sign languages, the impact of communication barriers and the social exclusion faced by Deaf individuals.
On September 5th, Teacher’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm! The Grade 12 students organized a vibrant assembly featuring a delightful performance by classes 3 to 5, a heartfelt musical tribute by Grade 12, and a dynamic dance by classes 6 to 8. The event also included moving speeches by the Head Boy and Head Girl, and concluded with an inspiring address from the Head of School, who praised the students’ efforts and highlighted the vital role of teachers.
What a great start to Swachhata Pakhwada 2024 at GD Goenka Public School, East Delhi! Students, from classes IV to XII, took the Swachhata pledge, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. Initiatives like these help build awareness and foster a sense of responsibility toward a cleaner and healthier planet.

From 27th to 31st August 2024, we celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship and honored the legacy of Major Dhyan Chand. Our students participated in a week filled with exciting activities like races, kho-kho, basketball, football, Throwball and more! An awareness campaign against the substance use, organised by CBSE on 28 August, 2024 , focused on educating and engaging students and the broader school community to combat the issue and promote a drug-free lifestyle.
On the occasion of National Science Day, Goenkans of class VI-VIII were shown a presentation on “India’s Journey to space” on 21st August 2024. Students were enlightened about various technical terms used in researching the realms of missions to space like geo synchronous satellites and L1, the lagrange point etc. It was a knowledgeable and engaging event for all the students.
