YAMUNAPEX-25: A Celebration of Philately!
India Post, in collaboration with GD Goenka School, East Delhi, hosted the Yamunapex-25 Philately Exhibition, igniting curiosity and creativity among young minds!Day 1 was graced by the presence of Distinguished dignitaries Sh. Satish Kumar (SSPOs), Col. Akhilesh Kumar Pandey Ji (CPMG), HoS Renu Ajay & Mr. Nikhil Maheshwari from Management of G.D.Goenka Public School. East Delhi.
Events like Inter-School Letter Writing & Stamp of Designing Competitions, were organised where students had an oppurtunity to showcase their artistic and literary skills and the highlight was releasing of philatelic ancillaries.
Students of grades VI- VIII embarked on an enriching journey to explore the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) beyond their textbooks. Through interactive discussions, real-world applications, and creative projects, they gained a deeper understanding of global challenges and the role they can play in building a sustainable future.This initiative fostered collaborative learning, problem-solving, and social awareness, empowering students to become responsible citizens and future leaders in sustainability.
A Philately Workshop was conducted at GD Goenka East Delhi on Friday 14th February,25 to introduce students to the fascinating world of stamp collection. The event aimed to educate students about the history, significance, and art of philately.The session was led by Mr Pulak Gupta, a senior Philatelist from Delhi who shared insights on different types of stamps, their historical relevance, and the importance of preserving them. Students were also guided on how to start their own stamp collection, categorize them, and maintain them properly.

Students put on a mesmerizing orchestra performance and a beautiful dance to mark the day. The event also featured a lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. ???????? Teachers shared insightful thoughts on the significance of Vasant Panchami and why it is celebrated with so much enthusiasm.

GD Goenka Public School East Delhi celebrated the spirit of Republic Day, with an exciting podcast, diving into impactful topics like National Voters Day, Electoral Literacy, India-China Relation, and Youth Empowerment. The energy and insights truly embodied the values enshrined in our Constitution .Such endeavours would pave the way for a well informed India.
The much-awaited Book Battle finale was held on 24th January 2025 at G.D. Goenka Public School, East Delhi, marking the conclusion of an exciting literary journey. Designed to foster a love for reading and critical thinking, this event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Classes III to XI. After rigorous preparation and a competitive preliminary round, the top two scorers from each section competed in the grand finale.The final round, conducted in the Physics Lab (Classes III-V), Chemistry Lab (Classes VI-VIII), and Biology Lab (Classes IX & XI), featured an MCQbased quiz with 30 questions, testing the participants’ knowledge of their assigned books and their authors. Students demonstrated remarkable preparation and literary insight as they completed the quiz within the allotted 35 minutes. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the participants vied for the title of best scorer.The event concluded with the announcement of winners, each class crowning its champion. The Book Battle proved to be a resounding success, encouraging students to delve deeper into literature while sharpening their analytical abilities.
