The Inter House competition on the theme - Jaago Grahak Jaago was held for classes VII-VIII in the auditorium. All the houses were ready in their respective groups and looked bright and vibrant in their costumes with attractive props. Each house presented their show with all excitement and gave their best. The theme of the competition was so relevant that it hooked the students and guided them about their rights and responsibilities. The last few words from the judges further motivated the students to be responsible and aware citizens.
The various items performed were Metallica, Aashayein, Believer with saare Jahan se Accha and Aasmaan ke paar shayad. All the groups performed for fives minutes each and mesmerized everyone with their performances.
4 students of class XII-B participated in EMC Business Blaster Competition held at SCERT, Defense Colony, New Delhi. Teams from various other schools had gathered to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges. The students pitched a business idea of eco-friendly and sustainable stationery products, under the brand name "SATVA". There were six other teams from esteemed school such as Bosco Public School, Tagore International School, Bal Bharti School etc. The panel of judges consisted of seven people of various specialization. The students maintained an interactive session and were able to answer questions about product, credibility and scope of the product.
Workshop on Vedic Math by AVAS. The resource person taught us how to find answers of word problems which take a lot of time to solve using traditional methods of mathematics. The students were amazed to see such quick tips and tricks for solving math problems.
Story Telling is the conveyance of events in words, images, and sounds often by improvisation or embellishment with decorative details and ideas. The aims of this activity were to encourage the pupils to enhance their English-speaking skills, build their confidence in using the language and use their creativity to tell a story. All the participants were enthusiastic and spoke well. Few of them were dressed up in pretty costumes according to their stories while others narrated their stories using a variety of interesting and beautiful props. It was interesting to see that the kids did not just narrate moral stories but also their self – made stories.
Goenkans celebrated National Doctor’s Day to pay tribute to all medical practitioners for their ethical and relentless service to humanity. The celebration was an attempt to emphasize the value of doctors in our lives and to express our gratitude towards them. Doctors are the real heroes fighting at the forefront to save millions of lives around the globe in the recent pandemic situation. Teachers explained to the students the importance of health and hygiene and the role played by doctors in our society. The young Goenkans demonstrated their talent and expressed heartfelt gratitude to our school doctor through a beautifully designed card. Moreover, they made a lovely doctor’ s bag as part of a Doctor’ s Day craft activity. They actively participated in the celebration and thanked all the medical practitioners who work tirelessly for humanity.
Workshop on Cyber Gaming Addiction by renowned Cyber Security Expert, Mr. Rakshit Tandon was held for students of classes IX-X & XII.
GDGPSED hosted its second Annual Virtual IT Competition-Techfest 2.0., the registrations of which started from 28th April and closed on 4th May, 2022. There were total of 8 events conducted for various classes from grade 3 to grade 12. Total 26 schools registered with more than 250 students competing with each other. Two live events-Battle Hub and Code-A-Thon were conducted on 7th May and 11th May respectively. The other events such as depict-a-pic, Scratch Studio, Meme-making, Cinematics, Aptitude etc., helped in building & judging the creative, innovative and technical skills of the students. G.D. Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj bagged I position, Amity International School bagged II position and Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar & Indian Language School, Nigeria bagged III position.
Mango Week was conducted for the students of classes Nur-II from 10.5.22 to 13.5.22. On 10.05.22, the children were made aware of the texture, taste, colour, season and different varieties of the fruit through an interactive PPT presentation. The students were also made to recall the different varieties of mangoes called langra, totapuri, safeda etc. On 11.5.22, the students brought numerous mango based items like aam panna, mango candies, yoghurt, juices, shakes to display. The kids gained knowledge on how one fruit can be consumed in so many different ways which taught them that tasty choices can be healthy too. A mango party too was organized for the students.

Drama provides a great platform for learning by doing. Any language comes alive while practiced in the form of a drama. Inter-House Sanskrit Kahani Manchan was organised in the same spirit to celebrate the richness and significance of one of our most classical language. Each group performed at their best where each performance was enjoyed and applauded by the audience. The colorful costumes of the participants greatly added to the show. The whole auditorium reverberated with this unique language Sanskrit and its essence.
