GD Goenka East Delhi organized an Emergency Evacuation Drill & Fire Safety Demonstration guided by CBD Shahdara Fire Station, Department of Delhi Fire Services, Karkardooma.The students were briefed about the basics of firefighting, and fire prevention along with safety tips and the use of emergency number 101 by Sh. SO Veer Pal Singh, Incharge Station Officer CBD Shahdara Fire Station.Students were seen patiently listening to the demo when instructed not to play with matchboxes, burn crackers alone, play with electric items or electric wires. They looked thoroughly mesmerized by the display of the water gadgets usage. They walked away with hearts full of respect and admiration for our brave firefighters.
The drill was executed in the presence of Principal Ms. Anupama Chopra, school teachers, and staff along with fire brigade personnel, security Staff, and drivers.
Students from all houses participated with great enthusiasm. They thoroughly enjoyed the activity, which helped them enhance their creative thinking and art skills. The students completed their drawings in a timely manner and were very disciplined, assisting their team members with their drawings. It was a great pleasure to witness their sincerity and enthusiasm for the competition. The teachers motivated them well, and the competition ended on a good note.
To intrigue curiosity in young Goenkan minds and to create awareness in the research community, the school came up with the concept of Science Magic Show , an Inter-House Magic Show Competition on May 1,2023 in the Physics lab, as a part of Science week. The participants presented Science Concepts in a magical and captivating way performing experiments based on-indicators, lava lamp (density), snow balls(density) etc. Overall it was an enriching experience for all the students and teachers.
Entrepreneurship Day: The students of GDGPSED bagged the third position for their business idea. The event was held at Sneh international school, Rajdhani Enclave. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their entrepreneurial skills and encouraging them to explore their creativity and innovation. The competition helped the students to learn about business planning, market analysis, and communication skills. It was a great learning experience for all the participants.
The message of cleanliness was an idea and an inception that was carried out throughout the life of Mahatma Gandhi Ji. Our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi too emphasizes on Swaachta Abhiyan in each and every corner of the country. And since Cleanliness is next to Godliness and to spread this message among our enthusiastic students, the Sports Department encouraged the students of Class VI to VIII to participate in the Shramdaan activity of cleaning their Sports Ground. The students participated in this activity whole-heartedly. The children left no stone unturned and cleaned every possible corner of the ground. Teachers also participated along with students thus setting an example for their young followers. It was also announced that every month end, the school will organize a Cleanliness Drive with different themes and ideas to ensure the idea of hygiene at all levels.
Shakespeare was a prolific writer during the Elizabethan and Jacobean ages of British theatre. Shakespeare's plays are perhaps his most enduring legacy, but they are not all he wrote. Shakespeare's poems also remain popular to this day. As a tribute to The Bard of Avon the Goenkans of classes VII-VIII participated in English Week Inter House Competition 'Tread the Boards . The students tuned the abridged version of the famed play 'The Merchant of Venice' into a drama script and enacted the same on the stage. The ending of the play was switched to the present day scenario to enliven the enactment . All the performances were mesmerizing and the skilled Goenkans displayed their creativity through immaculate dialogue delivery , props and costumes..

With the spirit and zeal of bringing laurels to their respective houses the Goenkans of XI and XII participated in Inter House English Week Competition-The Battle of Beats. The audience was filled with awe as the participants sang self composed raps depicting plays written by The Bard of Avon. The captivating performances exhibited Goenkans love towards literature.
"A room without a book is like a bodyrnwithout a soul." The voracious readers celebrated World Book Day with great enthusiasm. The Goenkans decorated their class doors withrnbeautiful paintings, quotes, book jackets and bookmarks made by them on theirrnfavorite character or stories.The importance of books, the role they play inrnour life, and their influence on us was discussed by English teachers in their respective classes. Students also talked about their favouriternbooks and authors with their classmates. It was a feast for the eyes to witness thernclass doors that showed their love for the books. Every student inspired theirrncounterparts to become a reader and enrich their lives with knowledge that thernbooks have to offer. Each class was able to open the door to thernworld of books.
Language is all about expressing oneself freely. Here, at G.D.Goenka Public School , East Delhi the students of grade 5 & 6 got an opportunity to compose a poem and write it in a structure to bring out the essence of the themes shared with them in 'Paint a Poem' Inter House English Week Competition. It was amazing to see how beautifully the students had painted and harmoniously recited their self composed poems.

GDGPSED recently held a CBSE Science Challenge Competition for the students and it was designed to encourage creativity, innovation, and critical thinking among our students. It provided a platform for them to showcase their scientific knowledge and skills, and to explore new areas of interest. Through this event, we aimed to nurture a passion for science. While the word "competition" may evoke feelings of pressure or stress, we want to emphasize that this event was all about empowering our students to take one step forward towards achieving their dreams.
