Hindi Diwas

'A country that does not take pride in its language and literature can never progress' - Dr. Rajendra Prasad. To keep the love for this language alive in students, a Hindi Poem Recitation marked Hindi Diwas for Grade 2 students. Respect for this language and a sense of cultural pride created an apt atmosphere to feel proud of our country and its roots.


Inter School Online Competition

Hiranya Puri, a Class 11 A student, took part in the "Headline It" event in an Inter-School Online Competition called CREO, hosted by Nehru World School which focused on creating headlines for articles and fact sheets. Our Goenkan has been recognized as Outstanding Performer in the event. 


Teacher's Day

To glorify teachers and their efforts in shaping the young minds, Teacher's Day stands as a golden opportunity. The day was utilized well this year by the students of grades III-XII, to pour their hearts out and express their appreciation towards them. A talk on the role of a teacher was delivered in the special assembly followed by an oath on cleanliness. Also the students of Grade XII took the roles of teachers and experienced the nuances of being one. Henry Adams stated it right when he said " A teacher affects eternity; He can never tell where his influence stops".


Inter house Masterpiece Art competition

    An inter house Masterpiece Art competition, provided a great platform for the students from all four houses to passionately showcase their artistic talent. The event was taken in the best of its spirit, drawing attention from judges and encouraging mutual learning among participants. The results are yet to be announced. Janmashtami celebration

Nishkama karma, "doing action without expecting any reward" . Don't these words sound so familiar? So significant? Indeed, this important saying brings to the mind the vivid image of our beloved Lord Krishna. On this occasion of Janmashtami, his words resonate within all of us. A grand Janmashtami celebration at  G.D.Goenka Public School on 1st September, 2023 was an event cherished by all. The fragrance of flowers, soothing aroma of camphor and the jingle of bells filled the air with excitement and joy. The event was based on krishna janam, the legend of the Krishna stealing butter and beautiful memories of lord krishna with his mother. The students  of grades Nursery to 2 were  dressed up in beautiful costumes. The premise was decorated beautifully and the spirit of festivity was enhanced with Jhankis depicting life history of Lord Krishna. A lot of fun-filled activities like painting, selfie corner , watching a janmashtmi movie in the class was also a part of the celebration.

    

Installation ceremony of the Interact club

G.D. Goenka Public School, East Delhi celebrated the successful installation ceremony of the Interact club for the session 2023-2024.The event marked the beginning of a journey towards positive change service and community involvement. The event was graced by the presence of the members of the Rotary Club Delhi Vikas, mentioned as follows- Mr. Brijesh Gupta, President. Mr. Sachin Vats, District Interact Chairman. Mr. Balesh Jain, Assistant Governor. Mr. Tarun Jain, Past President and District Secretary. Mr Ramesh Garg, Secretary and the past presidents as well (namely, Mr. Sunil Malhotra, N Rajnish Goel,MrSudhir Sardana, Mr Rakesh Arora and Mr Y.KJain)The ceremony had a series of cultural programmes followed by the inspiring speeches of the Principal Ms Anupama Chopra, Mr. Brijesh Gupta and Mr Sachin Vats. After the speeches, the most awaited installation of the Interact Cl for this year took place. The office bearers and other members were awarded their badges by the respected Rotarians. Succeeding this, everybody gathered together for a group photograph followed by the oath-taking ceremony. Then, the President of our school's interact club, Gaurav Singh was invited on stage. He enlightened us about the school's daily musings, social initiatives for the greater good and the contributions of the school's teachers, students and staff to make this world a better place. The ceremony came to a successful end as the club's Vice President, Manya Chanan expressed gratitude to all present there through her vote of thanks.

Newspaper Designing Activity

We all talk about inculcating the habit of  reading newspaper? Ever thought about designing one? The Goenkans of grades X & XI  tried heir hands-on designing a newspaper on the conservation of water and waste management. The activity served the twin purpose of sensitizing newer generations about a pressing issue as well as be a regular newspaper reader.

Inter House Sanskrit Natak Manchan Pratiyogita - Class IX-XII

Elaborated costumes, poise, impressive dialogue delivery, Sanskrit language and an atmosphere filled with excitement and zeal. Inter- House Sanskrit Natak Manchan Pratiyogita, organised on 25August2023, was an event to witness and cherish. The students of grade IX-XII put up their best show and received acclaim for their efforts.


Inter-House Sanskrit Drama Competition

Languages form an important aspect of the schooling experience. At G.D Goenka Public School,East Delhi, we prioritise Indian and Foreign Languages in education. We had a special event called the Inter-House Sanskrit Drama Competition on August 24, 2023. Grade VII & VIII students excelled with unique presentations, acting, pronunciation, and expressions, showcasing their brilliant dramatic skills. The event proved to be the fruit of teamwork and cultural appreciation.Kudos to the participants, and everyone involved in organizing this event.


Inter House - Relief with tissue paper competition

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.

To keep the artistic fervour of our children alive, an Inter House competition on Relief with Tissue Paper painting was organized on 24August2023 for grades IX & X. The beautiful artworks of the students left everyone in awe and admiring their creativity. A relief is a wall-mounted sculpture in which the three-dimensional elements are raised from a flat base.
